About
Hylton House is an independent boutique property on Hylton Street in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. We converted this building because we believed the Quarter deserved short stays that matched its character — distinctive, well designed and genuinely memorable.
Three apartments, each completely different: the Gold Bath Studio, The Parisian and The Japandi Loft. We manage them ourselves, so when you book direct you deal with real people and always get a better rate than any platform. We'd love to have you.

Fantastic place to stay in Birmingham. The hosts were also very welcoming and allowed us to check in slightly early. The space is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with wonderful attention to detail. The apartment is a short walk to bars, restaurants, with the canal side walk being our favourite spot. Also paid a visit to the Black Country living museum (25 min drive) which is well worth a visit ☺️ absolutely loved it!

What time can I check in and check out?
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. All three apartments use lockbox self check-in, so you can arrive any time from 3pm without needing to coordinate with anyone. If you need an early check-in or late check-out, get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you subject to availability.
Is parking available at Hylton House?What type of payment methods do you accept?
Yes. Street parking is available directly outside on Hylton Street and is completely free from 6pm to 8am on weekdays and all day on Sundays — making evening arrivals and weekend stays very convenient. For daytime parking, a public car park is located just around the corner from only £3.50 per day. Please note that Hylton House is within Birmingham's Clean Air Zone — we recommend checking your vehicle's compliance before travelling.
How does self check-in work?
All three apartments at Hylton House use secure lockbox entry — there is no need to meet anyone or collect keys. Once your booking is confirmed you will receive full check-in instructions including the building entry code and your apartment lockbox code. The building is accessed via an automated front entry system and each apartment has its own individual lockbox on the door.
Which apartment is right for me?
The Gold Bath Studio is bold and romantic — centred around a stunning freestanding gold bath, ideal for couples and special occasions. The Parisian offers a separate bedroom, living area and city skyline views — perfect for those wanting more space. The Japandi Loft is a converted loft with exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, a freestanding bath and film projector. All three sleep a maximum of 2 guests
